Madeline Stuart, Model with Down’s Syndrome, Feels Very Proud
Madeline Stuart broke the mold of what a runway model has to be. She is one of a few models with a disability, she has Down’s Syndrome. Changing the perception of the modeling world, Stuart recently walked in town fashion show’s this season at New York Fashion Week, her third year participating.
Do you have a favorite part of modeling?
Definitely the catwalk.
While on a tour across the U.S. Stuart has made appearances at many other fashion shows and charities. She has become such an inspiration and gained a following of fans through her social media sites. Many people stop her on the streets to take pictures and tell her how she has inspired them
How does it feel to be such an inspiration?
I feel very proud. I always smile and thank them.
What message do you want to send to the world?
That everyone should believe in themselves and to be kind to one another. The world is small and we don’t have much time here.
The fashion world loves Stuart and applause erupts every time she steps out on the catwalk. The 19 year old was swept up in viral success when her story of battling weight hit social media. The world fell in love with a woman willing to put hard work into her dream. Major companies flocked to sign this fresh, exciting, and inspiring soul.
