Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie & Lindsey Buckingham to Release Duet Album
An announcement of an album of duets from Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham had many fans buzzing on social media today. The collaboration, which will also include Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, will not be a Fleetwood Mac album, and is currently titled “Buckingham McVie,” according to the Los Angeles Times. The working title is reminiscent of 1973’s “Buckingham Nicks,” Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks’s duet album that preceded their joining the Fleetwood Mac lineup.
McVie, who joined Fleetwood Mac in the late ‘60s, took a 16-year hiatus from the band starting in 1998. She returned in 2014 for the band’s “On with the Show” tour, much to the excitement of both long-time fans, who had missed McVie’s presence on stage, and new fans hearing her songs live for the first time. The duet album is currently set for a May release, and is now the subject of much discussion and anticipation.
