Earlier in April, Haim posted a teaser video pointing to something very special happening on April 27. That special thing was the release date for their long awaited second album, Something to Tell You, and a video highlighting one of the songs, ‘Right Now.’ The album is set to release on July 7.
The video for ‘Right Now’ is simple yet effective, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, it gives you a peek into the world of Haim’s music. Set in a recording studio, the video shows how the sisters build on a song, it also demonstrates what powerhouse musicians they are. Starting off stripped down, the song begins with a cymbal beat and vocals. As the video progresses, more instruments are added ending with powerful drums, a trademark of Haim’s sound.
Haim tweeted the video with the caption, “This is where we start… live in the studio. There’s more to come, but this is it for right now.” The band cancelled their European tour to work on the album, allowing for a four year gestation. The past year Haim has talked about the new music, as well as debuted new songs, “Nothing’s Wrong” and “Give Me Just a Little of Your Love” during a few North American shows.
