World Cafe Live
World Cafe Live welcomed Crystal Bowersox to Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday night. This was not the first time she performed at World Cafe Live and the crowd enthusiastically welcomed her back. Bowersox shared wisdom, stories, and songs throughout the evening.
Bowersox is joined on stage by bandmates David DePrest (guitar), Derek Louis (drums), and Lucas Morton (bass).
During an impromptu Q&A early on in the show, an audience member asked Bowersox where she calls home these days. She responded with “wherever my son is…my kid is here with me so I’m home. Right now in Philly.” Other questions included her favorite Philly food (seitan cheesesteak) and when she would come back to Philly again (ask her agent!)
“Love doesn’t pay the bills but love gets you through when you don’t have any money.”
A Broken Wing
Bowersox dedicated “A Broken Wing” to “anyone out there who is struggling with anything.”
He Calls Me Angel
“We’ve all got a little bit of crazy in us and that’s not a bad thing. It’s just about finding somebody else who’s going to love that little bit of crazy too.”
“This song has become a bit of a prayer up here on stage for me. I hope that maybe you take a moment to set your intention…kindness and love.”
“There is a lot of really dumb shit going on in the world right now and I hope that you leave here happier than when you got here. That’s my goal.”
Me and Bobby McGee
Bowersox rocked out “Me and Bobby McGee” for the encore.
“I’ll see you next time”
Bowersox sent the audience on their way with the message to “be nice to each other.”
