Whitney Houston Starts Two Week Run at No. 1 in 1987 with ‘Didn’t We Almost Have It All’

September 26, 1987, started a two-week stretch at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for Houston with “Didn’t We Almost Have It All.” The second single off of the Whitney album would also go on to earn a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. And would become her fifth consecutive number one single. Whitney is the album that introduced Houston to international fame, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. The official video for “Didn’t We Almost Have It All” is a live performance recorded in Saratoga Springs, New York.
