Music Matters: Marsha Ambrosius Featured in Lincoln Motor Company’s “First Listen” Series

Becoming a mother changes the way in which one views the world, and singer/songwriter/producer Marsha Ambrosius attests to that awakening firsthand in her new video installment. The Liverpool, England artist partnered with Lincoln Motor Company and its “First Listen” series to share her thoughts on how motherhood has impacted her music and her perspective of life and love.

The creators of the “First Listen” music series, Lincoln Motor Company, held their exclusive Lincoln “First Listen” media dinner at The Dream Hotel in downtown, NYC on January 26th. In partnership with Lincoln, Ambrosius performed to a room full of esteemed journalists and executives including Jennifer Edwards, Multicultural Communications Manager at Ford and Lincoln and Raj Register, Head of Cross Brand Strategy and Growth Audience Communications at Ford.

Lincoln’s “First Listen” series featuring songstress and hit-writer Marsha Ambrosius showcases the brand’s commitment to the arts. The series previews upcoming music from rising and established musicians from behind the wheel of a Lincoln vehicle through the Revel sound system.

Ambrosius, who began her career as a member of the popular duo Floetry, has worked with industry heavy-hitters such a Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Solange Knowles, Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, Alicia Keys, and Nas just to name a few, and released her solo debut, Late Nights & Early Mornings, in 2011. Her second album, Friends & Lovers, was released in 2014. Ambrosius announced her engagement to Dez Billups in late 2016 and gave birth to the couple’s first child in December of the same year. Check out these adorable photos of Ambrosius and her family:

Ambrosius is currently working on a new album inspired by and named after her daughter, NYLA, as well as an EP and tour titled, “His + Hers.” Clearly, Ambrosius has found newfound inspiration for her music from her family, and we are super excited to hear what this hit-maker comes up with next in her ongoing quest to make feel-good music that touches and transforms! Watch Ambrosius in her “First Listen” installment featuring her latest single, “Just Like Old Times.”
